What to Expect in the Exploration Station

It is our desire to create an engaging and safe environment. Here are some policies and procedures we have put into place to help ensure your child's safety and care.

Check In/Security - Exploration Station opens at 8:45am. You will check in at the Welcome Table in the main foyer where you and your child will each receive a name tag with a security identification number. Please keep this identification number as you must present your security tag before your child can be released. If we need to contact you during the service, your child's security number will be displayed on the screens near the stage. When you are ready to permanently enroll your child, enrollment forms are available at the Welcome Table in the main foyer.

Good Health - Children who have had symptoms of fever, vomiting, or diarrhea within the previous 24 hour period will not be accepted in the Exploration Station. Other symptoms that may prevent a child from attending are runny nose (other than clear), unexplained rash, conjunctivitis or other eye infections.

Tips & Reminders -
Please label all of your child's belongings (backpacks, diaper bags, coats, pacifiers). We encourage parents to refrain from allowing their children to bring their own toys or comfort items into class. Middle and Upper nursery children should wear shoes as these classrooms have a regular scheduled outdoor play time.

Potty Training/Diapering - We would like to know if your child is potty training; however, please continue to use pull-ups at church until your child is fully potty trained. Diapers will be changed as needed and/or will take place 30 minutes prior to the end of class time.

Snacks -
Snacks are served in all nursery classes. Parents of children in the lower nursery need to fill out a "Thought You'd Like to Know" form each week where you may specify which snack, if any, you would like your child to receive. Children with food allergies should bring a "labeled" snack from home. Please inform the classroom volunteer of any allergies. If your infant needs a bottle during the service, the dry formula powder and water must be pre-measured in separate containers or be pre-mixed in advance. We are not able to serve jar baby food to infants.
